You will learn Body-Supported Singing and how your instrument works, learning the intricacies of how to create the vocal sound that you long for. Understand essential vocal warm-ups and breathing for singing. Expand your vocal range and precision with daily singing practices. Dive into vocal technique with lessons on resonance, projection, vocal timbre, harmony and more!
Do you have concerned parts that keep you from sharing your voice publicly?
You will experience Somatic Shamanic practices to calm the body and regulate the nervous system while you use your voice - practices that you can use every time you are at the edge of your comfort, leaping in a new direction that you know you have to try, but it's scary!
You experience the vibration of singing sacred mantras and medicine songs from around the world. We learn these mantras as a path to transforming our state of being anytime we desire. Deepening your relationship with these sacred songs brings you closer to your authentic self, your confidence and your heart.
You will radically re-write the story of your voice. Using the wisdom of Internal Family Systems (IFS), you will get to know the nervous, critical or insecure parts of you that arise when sharing your voice. Overcome and unburden these parts, write a new singing story and sing from your authentic, grounded, calm self.
You will practice being centered in the body, earth and soul so that your experience of sharing your vocal offering feels joyful and freeing. Experience surfing the creative energy flowing through you and expressing yourself in your fullest!
You will consciously practice letting go of perfection and meeting your inner-critic. Being creative often means having an inner critic who demands perfection. You put yourselves down, speak to yourselves harshly and even despise yourselves for your perceived 'messing up' or 'not getting it just right.'

Singing is our birthright and everyone can express themselves with their voice! But here's the truth - not everyone feels comfortable singing or has the freedom to express.
Many of us have stories, beliefs and experiences around our voice that keep us playing small and staying quiet.
Here's what I know as a vocal empowerment coach: I hear the same thing from people over and over again when they work with me on opening their voice: it's easier to stay small. It's easier to stay quiet and even silent because sharing our voice can bring fears of judgment, ridicule - even rejection.
Babe, I'm here to tell you that thinking this way is universal. Quieting our voice to stay safe has been a universal human experience, especially for marginalized populations and people. Women, transgender, people of color have experienced pressure to stay quiet to simply save their lives. You are not alone in your experience.
We've been shut down, put down and even persecuted for sharing our voices.

My passion and purpose is to support YOU to Liberate Your Voice!
From the time I was a young girl, singing into a hairbrush in my bedroom, I knew that I had a special connection to my voice and singing. But I was terrified of singing in front of others. The idea of getting up on stage paralyzed me with anxiety. I felt like I would never be "good enough" to show myself, my voice, my songs. Being seen was too terrifying to confront. The pain of holding it in and staying small and silent became too much to bear…and I started taking risks and sharing my voice.
Now, I LOVE to sing and lead people in song, on-stage, off-stage, anywhere!
I’m devoted to supporting humans to open their voices, especially those who feel like they can’t do it. I’m here to show you that you CAN do it!
As a Vocal Empowerment Coach, I offer support and guidance as you journey towards greater self-expression and vocal freedom. As an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-Informed and Trauma-Informed Coach, I can journey with you to the pain or discomfort you may feel around your voice and singing, and together we can write a new story of your liberated voice.
I’ve led many lives in this one short life, including Vocal Empowerment Coach, music teacher, massage therapist, mama, rock-n-roll wannabe star, lead and harmony singer in bands and most recently - Kirtan leader, professional recording artist and conscious music creator.
Singing Kirtan - devotional and sacred chanting - has completely changed the way I approach singing. Instead of singing to perform for other people - I now experience singing as an offering of what is real and true for me. I discovered that leading others in singing Kirtan and sacred songs is one of my favorite experiences. As our voices and breath unify, and we chant together with intention, I experience the sacred within myself, fully accessible, present within.
I love to sing with people - onstage, offstage, in circles and in ceremonies and as a Vocal Empowerment Coach. I have spent years developing Body-Supported Singing Techniques, vocal activation practices and somatic shamanic practices to support a calm and centered space while singing - and I want to share them all with you.
Course Dates + FAQs
What are the days and times of Liberate Your Voice?
Liberate Your Voice is offered 2 times!
Choose either the Sunday (In-Person) or Thursday (Virtual) Cohort:
➾Thursdays at 12:00-1:30 pm MT/11 PT/2 ET/7 GMT (Virtual Only)
➾Sundays at 4:30-6:30 pm MT (In-Person)
We meet for 4 weeks, and choose from either:
4 Sundays: September 28, October 5, 12, 19 2025 from 4:30–6:30 PM MT
OR
4 Thursdays: October 2, 9, 23, 30, 2025 from 12:00–2:00 PM MT (Skip Oct 16)
How long is each live session with Makaysha?
1.5 hours for the virtual-only class and 2 hours for the in-person class. More time is scheduled for the in-person class because of the realities of coming together in-person. We will start and end on time.
How much time will I need to devote the course material?
Each week, we will have one live session. You will also have Vocal Discovery Actionables home-play to do at your leisure. There are additional videos that you can watch if you desire but they are not required. Your participation level is up to you, and you could spend an additional 15 minutes to 1.5 hours per week on vocal home-play.
What happens if I can't make a live class?
No worries! The replay will be waiting for you in your portal and you can access it and watch it anytime that is convenient for you. You have lifetime access to all material.
Can I mix and match the Sunday and Thursday classes?
Not at this time. You'll be in either the Sunday or the Thursday cohort.
Will I be required to sing solo for the Liberate Your Voice?
Nothing is required! There will be opportunities to share your voice with the class if you desire, and you are welcome to take it at your own pace and honor what you want and need.
Do I need any vocal, singing or musical experience for Liberate Your Voice?
Not at all! Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned singer, come home to your voice in Liberate Your Voice!
My life feels busy. Can I complete the course at my own pace?
Yes! You will have lifetime access to all course material and you can complete the course at your own pace. The live classes are recorded and will be in your portal for you to watch.
Is there an in-person option?
Sunday classes are held at Makaysha's Music Sanctuary in Louisville, CO. The Sunday classes are in-person with a virtual option. If you live in the area, attending in-person is highly recommended, and you can also attend virtually. The Thursday afternoon classes are virtual-only.
